This traditional Turkish art form is considered to be one of the many wonders of the world. It is said that many years ago a man wrote two hundred letters on a grain of rice with a single strand of hair. Supposedly, it can still be found on exhibit at a museum in Turkey.
Many believe that what is written on a grain of rice is meant to bring good luck and keep one away from harm.

It takes a lot of practice and concentration. I have been writing and drawing on the rice for many years. Plus it helps that I have perfect vision and a steady hand.

We accept up to 30 characters on a single grain of rice, but don't forget you can get additional rice inside the same charm. That's another 30 characters if you want!

We do not recommend color oil inside the charm as it detracts from viewing the rice clearly and it turns the rice that color after a while. What we do recommend is the clear oil, as it gives the best view of the rice and preserves the rice very well. Plus, think about the clear oil, it matches with everything. However, if you do decide that you want to add color oil, we do offer this as a special request on our order form. We also don't recommend adding anything inside the charm, such as a dried flower as it can interfere with viewing the rice, but on our order form you do have the option to choose to add a little dried rose.
